Aug 19 Meeting - SQL Server Unit Testing with Mike Hotek

Thursday, August 13, 2015 8:31:00 AM Categories: Meeting
For those of you that joined us for the warehousing class Mike taught earlier this the year we went through source control, branching & merging, unit testing, code generators and all kinds of great processes. Mike wanted to say more about unit testing than he had time to in the class.

Topic:
To meet the needs of rapid application development and the rapidly changing needs of the business, your database code needs to be resilient.  Even the most resilient code can become incredibly expensive when things break.  Catching issues early in a development cycle saves time, money, and a lot of sleepless nights.  In this session, we will go over the basics of unit testing using the open source tSQLt framework.

Speaker:
Mike Hotek has lectured, authored and consulted all over the world and is currently the Business Intelligence Architect at Six Flags. He has enabled a huge variety of companies in numerous industries with SQL Server tools since before it was a Microsoft product (long time). After authoring 10 SQL Server books, he not going to Disney World. Six Flags is more fun.
