May 20 Meeting - Nancy Risha: Gathering Requirements Can Be Painless

Sunday, May 10, 2015 10:23:00 PM Categories: Meeting

Ah, and the things this team does with those requirements! For those of you that came to the data warehousing class, this is the front end steering the outcomes you saw in that class.

You can craft the most elegant solution, but no one cares if you're not solving the right problem.

Synopsis: Gathering requirements is sometimes thought of as an arduous task.  Sometimes there are endless meetings, multiple changes and what you end up with isn’t what the user wanted.  There is hope, and gathering requirements doesn’t have to be endless meetings to decide on what those requirements are.  This presentation will cover how to effectively gather requirements, what to do when those requirements change and learning to speak the same language as your end users.

About the Presenter:  Nancy Risha is the Manager of Business Analytics for Six Flags Corporate.  She is currently in her final semester for an MBA with an emphasis in IT Management.
